Our next local jewel is ANTICARNIST
“The imprisonment, slavery, torture and murder of other animals occurs on a colossal scale in the name of greed and those that oppose it are currently in the overwhelming minority.
Only by spreading the concepts of empathy, love and truth can we help others understand that we must make a change for our health, our planet and those that share it with us.”
10% of all online profits are donated to animal welfare charities.
In 1995, Wendy Valentine formed Hillside Animal Sanctuary after witnessing the plight battery hens and has since helped and campaigned for animals in need, particularly those who are so routinely abused in the intensive factory farming industry.
Solely financed from funds donated by the public, Hillside Animal Sanctuary’s supporters help contribute to the feeding and caring of its rescued animals.

I also do papercuts and unless specified these can be personalised just for you, these are cut from 100% cotton paper…yes really.
I hope you find something you like, browse the photos or click shop now to be transported to my etsy shop where goodies await. Or just message me if you have a particular requirement. Have a great day x”
A fairly new group in the animal rights world is The Save Movement. There are local Save groups in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, as well as many more across the country, and internationally.
“The Save Movement is comprised of groups around the world who bear witness of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animals en route to slaughter. Our goals are to raise awareness about the plight of farmed animals, to help people become vegan, and to build a mass-based, grassroots animal justice movement. The Save Movement started in December 2010 with the inception of Toronto Pig Save. Today there are over 130 groups in Canada, the U.S., U.K. & Ireland, Australia, continental Europe, Hong Kong, and South America.”
In the U.K. there are now over 50 Save Groups currently active. There is Norfolk and Suffolk Animal Save Groups that work very closely together, with vigils currently in Watton, Norfolk and Eye, Suffolk. Advocates for both groups will be at the Norwich Vegans Christmas Market, please stop by for free food samples and further information on bearing witness.
“Vanga Lama translates as “Create Beauty”. Our mission is to promote safe natural beauty by offering 100% natural products that do not contain preservatives nor synthetic chemicals of any sort. We do not use animal derived ingredients and do not test on animals.
We are based in Thetford in the beautiful county of Norfolk, England.” https://www.facebook.com/vangalamacosmetics/
“I’m a keen Artist, keen animal lover, activist and vegan, I’m also passionate about human rights, freedom of speech and equality. I wanted to not only make my artwork more assessable, but I wanted it to speak and make a statement.
I use the most environmentally friendly and vegan friendly fabric inks, by Permaset Aqua, these inks are waterbased, eco friendly and have not been tested on animals. The make of t-shirts/hoodies I use are ‘Gildan’ (ringspun for tees or heavy blend for hoodies etc) who hold several accreditation’s including ‘confidence in textiles’ ‘WRAP- Worldwide responsibilities’ ‘Fair labour Association’ and ‘Sedex, Empowering responsible supply chains’ so that have a pretty good ethical rating, which is very important to me, however they remain competitively priced, so that I can offer you the best value. Their t-shirts have a lovely quality and feel. However if you wish to have an even more ethical brand I am building up my stock of stock Continental who make Earth Positive and salvage fair trade, organic and recycled, for an additional £2.50 each. Colour choices are a little limited at the moment but i will be adding more in time.
I’ve always admired the works of ‘Banksy’ and similar ‘street artists’ like ‘Meek’ who use art to tap into the questioning mind. However I wanted to get my work out there without breaking the law (even though I am a bit of an anarchist for the past 25 years I’ve always wanted to have a range of t-shirts, and never either got around to it or never had the initial funds to start it. However I found myself in the position that I could now do it, so thought ‘why not?’.”

iANIMAL: EXPOSING SECRETIVE FACTORY FARMS
Animal Equality is putting technology to work for animals. Our team has filmed with 360-degree cameras to produce films on the lives of pigs, chickens, and cows. Compassionate celebrities, including Tony Kanal, Kat Von D, and Evanna Lynch, have lent their voices to support iAnimal. These films help lead our outreach efforts and have been seen by tens of thousands of people at universities such as Harvard, Cambridge, UCLA, and Florida State University, and at important events such as political conferences and film festivals.
Founded in 2006 by Sharon Nunez, Jose Valle and Javier Moreno, Animal Equality is now present in eight countries and one of the leading farmed animal protection organizations in the world.

A lovely addition to our charity stalls is local sanctuary Hillside
Since founding Redwings Horse Sanctuary in 1984, Wendy Valentine’s name has been synonymous with care and concern for horses.
In 1995, Wendy formed Hillside Animal Sanctuary after witnessing the plight of the battery hen and
has since helped and campaigned
for animals in need, particularly those who are so routinely abused in
the intensive factory farming industry.
Hillside is now home to over 3000 animals and is one
of the UK’s most successful campaigning organisations for the animals’ cause. We have always known that one of the main reasons animals are left to suffer in factory farms is because people have little or no idea about the immense cruelty involved in their food production. Although most of our rescued animals have been saved from the farming industry, Hillside is home to nearly 2000 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.
Hillside’s West Runton site are open to the public 10-5 Daily from Easter to October and have an onsite vegan cafe. To find out more about Hillside, please visit their website or Facebook page.

The building has been converted and restored as a working model of how old buildings in cities built in the age of fossil fuels can dramatically reduce consumption of energy, generate energy and income locally and remove the 30% of greenhouse gas emissions that come from household space heating.
As Norwich’s Environment Centre the staff and volunteers operate a bookshop, café with garden and environmental art gallery, these support local organic growers, co-op’s, traders and artists all actively engaged in safe-guarding the environment and communicating the many inter-related issues of sustainability.”

Another welcome please for the The Vegan Society
The Vegan Society was founded in November 1944 and have made tremendous progress since. The Vegan Society works towards making veganism an easily adopted and widely recognised approach to reducing animal and human suffering. When the society became a registered charity in 1979, the Memorandum and Articles of Association updated it’s definition of “veganism” as:
[…] a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.
We think you’ll be very excited to welcome Besos food and drink. Cruelty free products with Spanish ingredients and influence
The word Besos is Spanish for “Kisses” and is contained within the brand name of our original product, a new liqueur called Besos De Oro – Golden Kisses.
Founder and CEO, Peter Smith created the drink whilst living in Spain by blending two of the country’s most popular flavours – top quality brandy from Jerez and the ubiquitous Horchata from Valencia. After much experimentation and great effort, the result was a smooth, rich tasting liqueur which rivals (many would say it exceeds) Bailey’s Irish Cream for taste and quality.

The Green Britain Centre is an initiative of Ecotricity and is funded by the Green Britain Foundation.
The Green Britain Foundation was set up in August 2012 by Dale Vince, Founder of Ecotricity, to realise his vision for a greener Britain.
“Our vision of Green Britain is simply one where we all live far more sustainably. The three big issues we need to tackle to achieve that are Energy Transport and Food – these are therefore the three main themes of the work of the Green Britain Foundation. We support and undertake initiatives to promote sustainability in each of these areas.
We also aim to address another aspect of Greening Britain – in a more literal sense.
For too long we (Briton’s) have been squeezing wildlife out through intensive farming and widespread pesticide use – the resultant decline in bird and bee populations is staggering, and in urgent need of redress.
And so the other big focus of the Green Britain Foundation is the creation of new wildlife habitats, the buying of farmland and the giving of it back to nature – making room for the birds, bees and other creatures – that are essential to Britain being truly green.
Energy, Transport, Food – and room for Nature. These are the issues that urgently need addressing – and the solutions to them will form our blueprint for a Green Britain.”

Please welcome Cromer Kitchen
“‘Jams, chutneys and cordials made from home grown, locally sourced and foraged produce.’
Cromer Kitchen was established in 2014 when my husband started growing rather more vegetables and fruit than we could manage to eat, even with our ever increasing family to share it with! I began making some jam and chutney which we also couldn’t manage to get through! At that time, I had taken redundancy from lecturing and had a bit of spare time so decided that I would give starting a business a go!
After a very slow start, we have expanded the amount and variety of fruit and vegetables and I have increased production of jams, chutneys and cordials by an amount which has astounded me. We are no longer able to grow all the produce I need so am now looking for local sources. Please do let me know if you know of anyone who has surplus fruit or veg!”
